How To Pack A Mouth-Healthy Lunch

Posted on 7/4/2022 by Evan
How To Pack A Mouth-Healthy LunchSugary beverages are one of the primary sources of sugar for children, and some of them can be disguised as "healthy drinks," such as nutritious water or sports drinks. Children's long-term consumption of sugary beverages increases their exposure to sugar and acid assaults that can damage tooth enamel. To improve their oral health, limit or eliminate sports drinks, sodas, and high-sugar juices from their meals.

Carry Water

Water aids in the removal of tooth-damaging acids and food particles and promotes the production of saliva, which naturally cleans teeth. Most of these "enhanced" water solutions include excessive sugar, which is detrimental to oral and overall health. Water is the healthiest beverage for teeth. Thus we recommend packing it in your child's lunch instead of any other liquid. Additionally, avoid nutritional liquids.

Increase Whole foods

Whenever possible, include natural, whole veggies and fruits in your child's lunch. Instead of carrying unhealthy chips, consider celery sticks with a nutritious dip or baby carrots. Instead of bringing a fruit-flavored snack for dessert, consider taking fresh, fibrous fruit such as strawberries, kiwis, or apples. You can help your child avoid unneeded sugar and maintain healthy teeth when away from home by substituting fiber fruits and vegetables for sweets and starches. Dietary fiber naturally cleans teeth by wiping away remaining food particles.

Dietary decisions impact teeth

The meals your child consumes ultimately impact their teeth and oral health. The most crucial dental care practices are brushing, flossing, and regular trips to the dentist, regardless of what your child eats for lunch. Making a few minor, healthy adjustments to your child's diet can have a good effect, even if you don't exclude any entire food groups from their diet.
